New Year, New You, New Years Resolutions!

Well 2011 is in wrap up mode. Have you made a decision on how to spend your 2012? Will you make changes to better yourself? Maybe it's time for a change, or maybe you are content with who you are and how you spend your time. I believe we all can work harder at something in our lives, be it personal or professional. I over all believe myself to be a good person. However I feel that I could give back more, 2012 for me will be a year of consciously purchasing American made goods. As election year is a pon us and our economy in ruins I think this is a way to better give back to this country. I of course continue my daily goals to be kinder, more understanding, more forgiving. For me that doesn't change as the date of a calendar does its is a constant in my life. I encourage all of my family friends and listeners to step out of the box when thinking of your new years resolution. We all could say I will be healthier, I will lose weight, I will gain weight, I will find a new job....But I kinda am under the impression that once you have made a decision like that in your life you don't wait for the new year you just do. So I leave you with the history of THE NEW YEARS RESOLUTION!

The tradition of the New Year's Resolutions goes all the way back to 153 B.C. Janus, a mythical king of early Rome was placed at the head of the calendar. With two faces, Janus could look back on past events and forward to the future. Janus became the ancient symbol for resolutions and many Romans looked for forgiveness from their enemies and also exchanged gifts before the beginning of each year.
The New Year has not always begun on January 1, and it doesn't begin on that date everywhere today. It begins on that date only for cultures that use a 365-day solar calendar. January 1 became the beginning of the New Year in 46 B.C., when Julius Caesar developed a calendar that would more accurately reflect the seasons than previous calendars had.

The Romans named the first month of the year after Janus, the god of beginnings and the guardian of doors and entrances. He was always depicted with two faces, one on the front of his head and one on the back. Thus he could look backward and forward at the same time. At midnight on December 31, the Romans imagined Janus looking back at the old year and forward to the new.

The Romans began a tradition of exchanging gifts on New Year's Eve by giving one another branches from sacred trees for good fortune. Later, nuts or coins imprinted with the god Janus became more common New Year's gifts.

In the Middle Ages, Christians changed New Year's Day to December 25, the birth of Jesus. Then they changed it to March 25, a holiday called the Annunciation. In the sixteenth century, Pope Gregory XIII revised the Julian calendar, and the celebration of the New Year was returned to January 1.

The celebration of the New Year is the oldest of all holidays. It was first observed in ancient Babylon about 4000 years ago. In the years around 2000 BC, Babylonians celebrated the beginning of a new year on what is now March 23, although they themselves had no written calendar.
Late March actually is a logical choice for the beginning of a new year. It is the time of year that spring begins and new crops are planted. January 1, on the other hand, has no astronomical nor agricultural significance. It is purely arbitrary.

The Babylonian New Year celebration lasted for eleven days. Each day had its own particular mode of celebration, but it is safe to say that modern New Year's Eve festivities pale in comparison.
The Romans continued to observe the New Year on March 25, but their calendar was continually tampered with by various emperors so that the calendar soon became out of synchronization with the sun.

In order to set the calendar right, the Roman senate, in 153 BC, declared January 1 to be the beginning of the New Year. But tampering continued until Julius Caesar, in 46 BC, established what has come to be known as the Julian Calendar. It again established January 1 as the New Year. But in order to synchronize the calendar with the sun, Caesar had to let the previous year drag on for 445 days.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas!

Sorry to all who were listening today...EPIC FAIL! What can I say. It happens I can't be on point all the time. The holidays are rough for me, being in radio you move all over and that means sometimes you spend the holidays alone. I am by nature a work-a-holic. Which sucks because I came from such a kick ass family that I want to spend every moment I can with them. However, I appreciate all my listeners and all the amazing experiences I get to have in life. I do miss the holidays with my family.  Hopefully one day radio will take me to a closer place where I can spend this time with my family.

All of you who are apprehensive and not looking foreword to time with your family...BITCH slap yourself. That's what the holidays are all about. So enjoy them.

REAL SHIT

So I was gone the last couple of days. I had an ear infection YUCK seriously the is NOT COOL. But, I'm better thanks to modern medicine. On top of my ear infection I was dealing with some serious personal drama. However it's Christmas, well its Christmas for me since I believe in God giving his only son to Mary to bring into this world. Amazing story if you don't know it. That's besides the point. THE POINT IS... WELL I GUESS I DON'T HAVE ONE. Other then I haven't written in a few days.

So Here is what I want to talk about RIHANNA. My favorite artist right now. Times changes and so has my 'favorite artist' it just seems she has been able to put all my emotions into words this last year so here it is.

OkAy Yes we all know she rocks my world but damn look at the emotion she shares so freely. Love that shit! So much more I want to share but I'm just getting back in the game.
SO Cheers!

Friendship Ode To Faline

I have a dear friend (we will call her Faline) that has only been apart of my life the better part of 6 almost 7 years. We met in a bar and although our story differs in how that night went down all I know is that it was a gift from God. That point in my life was well, interesting I was in love and thought I was unstoppable. I was over indulging in things I shouldn't have, I was making decisions I hope my daughter will never make but I was living. Then here comes Faline at Bar Louie in Naperville IL. "cute shirt" or something like that and that is what turned into what I know as my best friend.

Faline was going through a divorce and maybe not making great decisions either. At the time I was unstoppable, and as our friendship grew a shoulder for her to cry on, a voice to lift her spirits higher. I got engaged and married a year and a half later. As she went through her divorce she helped me pick music for my wedding. We are 2 very different people, but honest with each other.

Soon after the wedding my decisions in life got ugly it was quite dark in my world and Amy was there the night it all changed in fact I chose her over getting twisted and partying. I'll never forget when she looked at me and basically told me that if I partied 'it was over' she couldn't 'watch me hurt myself any longer.' Those weren't the exact words but that's what my soul felt. I chose her. We went sledding and had hot chocolate and played and laughed all night long. It was in that star filled moon lit sky I felt something more powerful then I had in a very long time. I felt loved. Her love has engulfed my spirit since. I never knew in a bar in the town I grew up in I'd meet my new sister. That's exactly what she has become, for that I am thankful.

It's so funny to me that she always tells me I'm the most inspirational person that I give her that fire under her ass to keep going cause she is that for me as well.

After all we have been threw some serious shit together. Her 1st divorce, my first marriage, my toxic lifestyle, her 2nd marriage, my divorce, cancer, endometriosis, surgery's, hospital stays, her  2nd divorce, me going back to school, her losing everything and moving back to California to me getting my job in Rapid City, to now me moving to California and going threw another life change.

She lifts me when I am down she inspires me to be great and I do the same for her. The journey of life that has been apart of our relationship has been a truly amazing one I will keep forever. It makes me wonder out of all the failed relationships, and toxic friends I have endured in my life why God gave me Faline. After all we have nothing in common except one very important thing. WE NEVER GIVE UP.
So here we are again living in California after meeting so many years ago. Our life has intertwined beautifully. I have an AMAZING family and many AMAZING friends however this one is special.

If your lucky enough to find someone who can be apart of your life and tell you to your face when your being dumb, making good choices, who can support and love you... then praise it. Never let it go. When all else is dark remember that  your not alone. I hope that everyone can have at least one friend like that in their lives. I believe deeply in God, and I believe that he sent an angel into my life and her name is Faline.

So as I embark on my new journey I do it not alone. I have God, my family and I have her to hold me up and love me. The blessing continue.

Cheers!

Lady Gaga Is Getting Ordained...What's Next!

Lady Gaga is preparing to officiate the wedding of her NYC yoga teacher Tricia and her partner. Plus Mizz Gaga Mother Monster is also thinking about overseeing gay weddings at her concerts. Kinda like Ozzy remember.... She said, “I’m actually getting ready now to be ordained to marry one of my best friends, Tricia, who is also my yoga instructor. That would be fabulous. I like that idea – we can pay for the reception! Maybe we’ll have Gaultier make me a priest outfit, so it can be official. Or controversial!” I think I'd prefer Ozzy however after the last time I spoke with him he is pretty much done for I don't think any audio I got was worth airing ... poor Ozzy. Ok were getting lost....back to Mother Monster, her Little Monsters have designated December 20 as “Marry the Night” day around the world. Plus they are encouraging fans around the world to download the song at 4 pm local time in their country off itunes. Sound like a Crazy Lady Gage Ploy to make more money. Well what can I say...she inspires many so be it! Not at my wedding though!

Cheers!

Hippo Poop Wrong Yet so damn funny!

Cheers! That is an epic S&%$ LOL

Lack There Of....Wall-e

Communication. Simple enough...open your mouth say whats on your mind and boom a conversation. However it is not that easy. All these wonderful things such as twitter, facebook, e-mail, text, ect. have taken communication to a new level and its not necessarily a good one. Facebook and twitter are great to keep in touch with friends and family that live far away or connect with people you don't see that often because life is busy. Seems now as though they have taken over the ability to communicate professionally, and personally. Technology grows and changes so quickly and has severely affected the way we interact with others. I remember growing up mom would pick up the phone, ya know one with a cord, and call my dad ask if he could grab a gallon of milk on his way home. It always went something like this. "Hi Hunny Can you pick up some milk on your way home?"
"sure can" ....."Thanks, love you see you soon" HOLY CRAP! SO SIMPLE. No really it is. Yet so hard to achieve. Why have we lost touch with that, what made us stop? Technology can be used for so many positive things but it has cost more pain then its worth.

I challenge all of you in the world to do it. Put your fingers to use and DIAL your mom up, call your best friend, your sister, your brother, your son, your daughter, your lover, your partner. PICK UP THE DAMN PHONE and talk in fact if your close enough and lucky enough to be able to visit pick up the phone make a date to spend quality time with one another. Skip your 'TV' show and spend time with each other in person. Not on facebook...not over twitter. I encourage all to show love through communication. When you can't have a face to face or a phone conversation then yes that's why we are thankful for things like FB and twitter and e-mail. Use them wisely AND don't take them TOO seriously.

When someone you love is hurting don't I'M them pick up the phone and call them.

Have you seen the movie wall-e the people in space so blinded by everything so easy they did nothing and took no notice of their surroundings. Is that what this world is coming too?

Me, myself, and I well I want to notice the things around me. The sunrise, a waterfall, a thunderstorm, my goodness in a world where technology is making are lives better I beg to differ.

Funny coming from a radio personality I guess but I talk, I listen and I communicate. I encourage you to do it as well.

2011 Year Wrap Up #winning

So with 25 days until the new year begins its time to take a look at 2011.

Charlie Sheen, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Adele, Nicki Minaj, Kate Perry, Watch The Throne, Britney Spears, Casey Anthony, Dr. Murray, Kim K...heck the Kardashians in general, NBA lockout, that's just off the top of my head right now but seriously what will define 2011

I will remember all of the for mentioned but when I think back to 2011 I will think of Navy Seal Team 6.

I was on the air doing my regular bash lindsay lohan routine when I heard the news. It was a defining moment in history. I am not sure to this day of my feelings of being happy over someone death was right but I know of the closure it brought to so many and hope as well. The Twin Tower Memorial opening this year made the capture and death of Osama that much sweeter in many peoples eyes. I will say that even though I do not think our government is doing its job people in our Armed Forces make me very proud to be an American. Thanks for all you do.

The Death of Osama is not the only defining moment we have for 2011. The Tohoku Earthquake the resulted in the massive Tsunami that destroyed the lives of so many in Japan. How quickly the world came together to help defined us as a humanitarian world. It's funny to think about it truly we feel empowered when we drop a bomb and kill masses of people but when mother nature does it we come together.

The Casey Anthony case hurt my soul, the release of an AMAZING amount of beautiful music from so many artist filled my soul. It has been quite a year. I left 99% of it out I know but to think back for just a moment is refreshing.

What will you remember of 2011? What will 2012 bring? Tata for now, Cheers!

Holy Crap Im 29

So here it is out of no place my 29th birthday! Seriously only 1 more year till 30! I'm not sure I had a bucket list of what to do before I turned 30 but I have decided there are many things I need to accomplish this year! That's right 365 days to get it done.

1. New Job...Relocate to Tampa FL area
2. Sky diving
3. Buy a house
4. Go on 5 AMAZING dates
5. Learn how to surf with my daughter
6. Start writing more
7. Get my ink touched up and add Jojo's finger print
8. Get a kitten...black in color...male cute and let Jojo name it

Now looking at that list I can say it is easy enough. I have been very lucky to have live a VERY fulfilling life thus far so I say here's to another trip around the sun. May it be fruitful and everything I will work my ass of to achieve!

Cheers.

Complements Go Along Way

I am a woman hear me ROAR. Yes myself like many other people deal with things differently. When you have a relationship whether romantically, friendship, professional, acquaintance, doesn't matter
what it is remember to complement people. Good job, great idea, I wish I had thought of that, you look great, keep up your hard work, you have a beautiful smile, I know of a million ways you can show someone you care just by being selfless for even a moment. ITS POWERFUL.

I have a relationship in my life that is toxic currently however in business you can't just walk away and diminish that relationship because its not good for business.

So I have taken a new approach 'kill um with kindness' COMPLEMENTS, now so far it hasn't been working but I am a found believer in a mantra my dear friend Amy lives by - just keep swimming- so in my effort to succeed and win in my business venture I will just keep swimming and continue to complement the hell out of my partner. I can see this as going two ways eventually I feel better because I have done everything I could or maybe my partner will see the light. Either way this project that I have given my soul to hasn't been in vain.

On that note my friends I encourage you to be the bigger person even when it is impossible I promise you will be better for it.

Sheen Snaps About Media!

Breaking his silence for the first time since beginning rehab last week, Charlie Sheen had much to say in a pair of brief exchanges with the media Wednesday.

E! News is claiming it texted exclusively with Charlie Sheen, who seemed eager to dispel rumors that his father, is trying to get appointed as a conservator to watch his troubled son's money. "All crap," Sheen reportedly told E!, before explaining what brought him to rehab will remain private, despite the headlines.  "Believe nothing," says Sheen.  "I will never speak about any of this as long as I'm alive. You're all gonna have to keep towing the same redundant line, guessing wrong."
Additionally, Sheen slammed the media as "pathetic" for its constant coverage of his recent troubles: "BTW, two wars are in an endless state of sorrow. Egypt about burned to the ground, and all you people care about is my bulls**t...Shame. Shame. Shame."

Later on Wednesday, however, Sheen released a more subdued statement through his publicist, saying he's appreciative of the support he's received since he began rehab.  I have a lot of work to do to be able to return the support I have received from so many people," the actor began. He thanked CBS and the cast and crew of his sitcom Two and a Half Men for expressing their concern, and also thanked his fans for their "good wishes." Sheen concluded his statement by saying, "Like ERROL FLYNN, who had to put down his sword on occasion, "I just want to say, 'thank-you.'"

Sheen reportedly is rehabbing at home after entering the hospital last week with "severe abdominal pains," amid reports that he'd been doing drugs at his home. Two and a Half Men is on a production hiatus while Sheen receives treatment.

Charlie Sheen Finally Goes To Rehab. Good Luck!

A rep for Charlie Sheer says "Charlie Sheen has voluntarily entered an undisclosed rehabilitation center today. He is most grateful to all who have expressed their concern. Mr. Sheen asks that his privacy be respected at this time and that no additional informational will be provided."

"Two and a Half Men" producers released a statement saying, "Due to Charlie Sheen’s decision to enter a rehabilitation center, CBS, Warner Bros. Television and executive producer Chuck Lorre are placing “Two and a Half Men” on production hiatus."

The statement continues, "We are profoundly concerned for his health and well-being, and support his decision."

I know Charlie Sheen has a very intense past in which I'll share with you all in just a moment however I enjoy him as an actor and love Two and a Half Men, it's a great show. I think he has channeled his role into real life. His history is pretty damn crazy too let’s look at this for a second....

ALL OF THIS IS A RUMOR!

Sheen had a “briefcase full of cocaine” delivered to his home and was using large amounts of the drug during the 36-hour bender that landed him in the hospital yesterday. Sheen had several people inside his home during the 36-hour span that started Tuesday night including 2 porn stars, a business associate, and several other women.  After hours of drinking, we’re told a person showed up to the house with a designer “briefcase” that contained multiple “bricks” of cocaine. Sheen immediately began doing the drug for several hours.

MORE HISTORY...

He supposedly shot Kelly Preston in the arm back when they were engaged, and his girlfriend Chloe Jones died suspiciously. Two of his wives claim he threatened to kill them, one even saying he held a knife to her throat. Now maybe there’s no connection between those things. However what about him dressing a $6,000 sex doll up as a cheerleader, chopping off its hands with a meat clever, wrapping it in a blanket and throwing it in a dumpster, or maybe the porn star who claims he locked her in a closet in the Plaza Hotel in New York was lying! He might just be a guy who likes to “party”.

With that being said maybe it’s about time for Charlie to enter rehab. I will always be a fan!
