Communication. Simple enough...open your mouth say whats on your mind and boom a conversation. However it is not that easy. All these wonderful things such as twitter, facebook, e-mail, text, ect. have taken communication to a new level and its not necessarily a good one. Facebook and twitter are great to keep in touch with friends and family that live far away or connect with people you don't see that often because life is busy. Seems now as though they have taken over the ability to communicate professionally, and personally. Technology grows and changes so quickly and has severely affected the way we interact with others. I remember growing up mom would pick up the phone, ya know one with a cord, and call my dad ask if he could grab a gallon of milk on his way home. It always went something like this. "Hi Hunny Can you pick up some milk on your way home?"
"sure can" ....."Thanks, love you see you soon" HOLY CRAP! SO SIMPLE. No really it is. Yet so hard to achieve. Why have we lost touch with that, what made us stop? Technology can be used for so many positive things but it has cost more pain then its worth.
I challenge all of you in the world to do it. Put your fingers to use and DIAL your mom up, call your best friend, your sister, your brother, your son, your daughter, your lover, your partner. PICK UP THE DAMN PHONE and talk in fact if your close enough and lucky enough to be able to visit pick up the phone make a date to spend quality time with one another. Skip your 'TV' show and spend time with each other in person. Not on facebook...not over twitter. I encourage all to show love through communication. When you can't have a face to face or a phone conversation then yes that's why we are thankful for things like FB and twitter and e-mail. Use them wisely AND don't take them TOO seriously.
When someone you love is hurting don't I'M them pick up the phone and call them.
Have you seen the movie wall-e the people in space so blinded by everything so easy they did nothing and took no notice of their surroundings. Is that what this world is coming too?
Me, myself, and I well I want to notice the things around me. The sunrise, a waterfall, a thunderstorm, my goodness in a world where technology is making are lives better I beg to differ.
Funny coming from a radio personality I guess but I talk, I listen and I communicate. I encourage you to do it as well.
